The Badrinarayan Barwale College in Jalna was established in 1993 based on the inspiration of Dr. Badrinarayan Barwale and the late Shri Vasantraoji Deshpande. Founded on the belief that literacy can enable social and economic transformation, the institution imparts quality education to the underprivileged sections of society. The institution has a sprawling 7-acre campus on the Jalna-Aurangabad highway. With the motto of “Excellence through Education”, the Badrinarayan Barwale College considers students as a focal point of its educational activities. Healthy communication between parents, teachers, management and the government is encouraged. The institution introduced Computer Science and Microbiology as optional subjects as far back as 1993. A post-graduation course in Biotechnology was started in 2001. Badrinarayan Barwale College runs a pioneering program known as “Earn and Learn”. Under this program, 10 -15 deserving students from economically disadvantaged families are selected every year. Students are encouraged to earn their own “pocket money” by performing tasks and responsibilities that help the college community. The main objective of the ‘Earn and Learn’ program is to give underprivileged students access to quality education and opportunities for success. The program has been very successful since its inception.
